Ben has lived in Hackney since 2009 and is a well-known face on the transport network in his job with a local rail operator. He is also a keen gardener and nature-lover, taking a strong interest in protecting Hackney's environment and green spaces.
Ben has worked within his local area on green community projects and also supports the borough's Lib Dem council group with campaigns for better recycling, fewer betting shops and against the use of "taser" stun-guns in Hackney.


TTIP - Is the NHS Safe?

I've received a lot of e-mails from people worried about the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP); a trade deal currently being negotiated between the European Union and the USA.

The 38 Degrees campaign group is pushing a message that TTIP will mean American health companies will be able to take over and perhaps charge people for services that are currently run by the NHS. Is this true?
