"hold and maintain the campaigning data of the local party;
"ensure compliance with data protection legislation."
- the Hackney Liberal Democrats' constitution
Andy Neadley, Data Officer
When we campaign, we collect lots of information about people - how they vote, what they care about, phone numbers, emails... and we have a responsibility to treat that data properly and with respect. The Data Officer's job is to make sure all our data is secure and complete and that we are following rules like GDPR - the General Data Protection Regulations.
For 2019, this job falls to Andy Neadley. He's from Finsbury Park and works - handily enough - in IT.
More about the role:
The Data Officer's term runs from 1st January to 31st December and elections take place at the local party AGM, usually held in October or November. Any local party officer can be appointed to stand in for the Chair if he/she is unavailable and, as such, all officers are also Vice Chairs.
